Patent agents are a vital part of the patent system.  Innovators in all areas--from mechanical devices to AI to pharmaceuticals--depend on patent agents.  But the path to becoming a patent agent is somewhat mysterious.  And the path from patent agent to patent lawyer can be intimidating.
